Ypsilanti Courier: Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority receives $4.5M in grants
The Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority has received $4.5 million in grants from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, the Ypsilanti Courier reported.
The YCUA was one of 23 municipal entities that received more than $100 million in funding from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and the Strategic Water Quality Initiatives Fund. The YCUA grants are for $2.9 million and $1.6 million.
The grants are expected to go toward replacing five pumps, screen equipment and piping for the authority's wastewater treatment facility. The replacements will help bring the facility to peak efficiency, the Courier reported.
