Sheriff's office investigating 3 daytime break-ins

By Kyle Feldscher

Thieves stole two televisions and several pieces of jewelry Tuesday in three daylight break-ins, including two on the same Superior Township block, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies were first called to Superior Township to investigate a break-in in the 1900 block of Knollwood, sheriff's deputies said in a media summary. Someone had forced open the front door to the home and stole a 40-inch flat screen TV.

While investigating that incident, deputies were notified of another break-in in the 1800 block of Knollwood. An intruder had entered the home through an unlocked window and stole a 40-inch flat screen from that residence as well.

There are no suspects in either incident, and it's assumed they are related, Sgt. Geoffrey Fox said.

A third daytime break-in was reported in the 8000 block of Indigo in Ypsilanti Township. A sliding glass door was smashed at the home and the intruder, or intruders, stole numerous rings, watches and other jewelry, deputies reported.

Miscelleanous other items were also taken from the home.

Anyone with information on these incidents is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711.

If the police could just sit near Macarthur Blvd, they could probably prevent half the crime committed in the area.

They DO sit by MacArthur Blvd. I live in that same park and we were broken into in December. I am getting desperate to get out of there. There is only so much the WCSD can do. It does connect to that area through a back path. Still, the park itself is becoming its own crime ridden area.

This is the trailer park off Geddes Road. Although MacArthur Blvd is nearby it does not connect to this area.

I wonder what happened to the WCSD alert system. No notices coming through any more. And obviously crime is still happening.

@Shawn-this is so true! When I was broken into, there were some significant items stolen, most of them Christmas presents and antique jewelry. The only article from Ann Arbor.com was about some Christmas lights stolen from MacArthur Blvd. Priorities!

We probably only get about 1% of what really goes on!
