Police: Man arrested after assaulting woman, threatening pedestrian with knife

Ypsilanti police arrested a man late Sunday night after he assaulted a woman and then used a knife to threaten a pedestrian who attempted to intervene.

Police responded at 9:39 p.m. Sunday to the 400 block of North Hamilton Street to deal with the man. According to police, he had assaulted a woman and pushed her outside of the home.

A pedestrian, who was attempting to intervene in the altercation, then confronted the man, who threatened the pedestrian with a knife.

Police arrested the man and took him to the hospital for treatment, according to police.
