One man taken to hospital following shooting in Ypsilanti
A 29-year-old Ypsilanti man is in stable condition at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after being shot in the stomach while he was riding a bicycle this morning on Harriet Street, Ypsilanti police said.
The shooting was reported about 11:33 a.m., roughly five minutes after it occurred, Det. Sgt. Troy Fulton said.
The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the right side of his stomach and rode from Harriet Street to Monroe Street after being injured, police said.
Fulton said it appears the shooter was in a vehicle. He said the victim did not have a weapon. The victim has not been cooperating with police, he said.
Detectives continue to investigate to determine what led up to the shooting.
