Man with gun arrested in Ypsilanti Township
Police arrested a 33-year-old Ypsilanti Township man with a gun Thursday night, deputies said.
Deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were called to the area of Ohio and Russell streets in Ypsilanti Township around 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a man with a gun, according to an alert sent out over the Nixle communications system. There were also reports of shots fired.
Police said the man was shooting in the air.
An investigation led to the 33-year-old being taken into custody and held at the Washtenaw County Jail.
The report will be reviewed by the prosecutors office for charges.

And now fresh from California, man using a shiny black car to assault and kill. Perhaps we can make black assault cars illegal.

I worked as a nurse in UM ER for years. The media always seemed to write about every crime in Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Twp, yet so many crimes happened in Ann Arbor every week I was sure they would be written about, with absolutely no mention of them in the media. I always shook my head when Ann Arbor crime statistics were listed and compared to Ypsianti and Ypsianti Twp. I've always thought AnnArbor just has a better PR dept.

Tdw, just the facts and my experience. I live in ypsianti and work in Ann arbor. We can't sugarcoat crime, no matter where it is. It is everywhere.

Ann Arbor has to cover up the crimes committed by U of M athletes. That's why the crime statistics don't show up as much in AA.

IV....look here's the deal.Crime in Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Twp gets reported no matter how small it is ie: a dine and dash was reported.Only somewhat large crimes in Ann Arbor are reported. And unlike Ypsi you are not allowed to take cheap shots at Ann Arbor

Anyone who fires into the air should be arrested. That is very dangerous, because what goes up must come down... Maybe right into someone's head miles away.

This is not news. It would be if someone from Ypsi Twp didn't have a gun.

stevek......just as homeland, if your comment makes you feel better about yourself then go for it. And to avoid another deletion ( 2 ) if I said that about Ann Arbor, it would be deleted immediately

Seems like the headline should read "Man arrested after shooting gun in the air". People are not normally arrested for just having a gun.

If they reported on every time that was the case then the site would be clogged wouldn't it? It still didn't mention if he had a CDL. That was not the point here.

If it's concealed and they don't have a CPL they most certainly are
