Man who pleaded guilty to robbing man outside apartment complex to serve up to 20 years

Deandre Mitchell, 20, pleaded guilty last month to armed robbery in exchange for two other felonies to be dropped. On Thursday, Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge David Swartz sentenced him to between five and 20 years in state prison, officials told AnnArbor.com.

The woman accused of setting up the man to be allegedly robbed by Mitchell and Eddie Nailor also was in court Thursday.

Court records show Amber Davis appeared in Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge David Swartz’s court Thursday for a pretrial hearing. That hearing was adjourned until 1:30 p.m. Jan. 31, according to court records.

Davis is accused of working with Nailor and Mitchell on Sept. 14 to rob a man outside the Lakeshore Apartments. According to police, the man visited Davis in her apartment and then went to see a friend at a different apartment.

When the man got to the other apartment, Davis allegedly called the man back to her apartment. When he got outside, Nailor and Davis allegedly held him at gunpoint and robbed him of money.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to armed robbery in exchange for charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony to be dropped. Nailor has decided against taking a plea deal and will face trial in January.

Davis is also charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
