Man in critical condition after shooting in West Willow
A shooting late Tuesday in Ypsilanti Township left a man in critical condition and a woman in her late teens also injured.
“Her injuries were minor, his were more serious,” said Sgt. Geoffrey Fox of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday morning.
The man, described by police as in his early 20s, is hospitalized. Police expect him to recover. Both the man and the woman were from the Ypsilanti area.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office were dispatched to the area of Desoto Avenue and Jeff Avenue at 11:15 p.m. for the shooting.
The residence “appears to be associated with the people,” according to Fox.
While the motive is unknown, police don't think the shooting was random.
“Early indications are that it is not a random act of violence,” Fox said.
There are no suspects at this time, but the Detective Bureau of the sheriff’s office continues to investigate.

If there are no videos or pictures, those this one incident prove the cameras unworthy? Or since the previous attacks were solved so quickly with them which proved their worth, does this now net them back to neutral?

I sincerely hope that nobody was trying to make a left into a car wash while this was all going down.

I heard this all come come down on the scanner also. All indications don't point to a random act of violence, very true statement. With all the police officers in the area, and a K-9 I am surprised the suspects were not caught. I am not downing the police officers, believe me when I say they had their hands full. Very seldom is there random things going on in West Willow, most is with intent. I'm sure the investigation will continue. Great Job by all officers at the scene.

Indeed, I hope there are some photos captured of the assailant or assailants in this awful assault. I hope the victim recovers quickly, and can put the person or people responsible to account for this crime. Then, a trial, conviction, and incarceration of these... terrible people.
