Deputies searching for 2 men who sexually assaulted woman

By Kyle Feldscher

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for two men who sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in Ypsilanti Township Monday morning.

Sgt. Geoffrey Fox said the woman was walking in the area of Cary Drive and Textile Road between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. when two men approached her and sexually assaulted her.

The first man is described as black, in his 20s, more than 6-feet tall with a thin build and a dark complexion. The second man is described as having a light complexion, 5-feet-6 inches tall with a medium build and a mole or birthmark on his left cheek.

Deputies also are trying to speak with a man who was walking his dog in the area just before the sexual assault. Fox said the man spoke with the victim immediately before the incident. The man is not a suspect.

Police did not release any more details about the incident.

Anyone with any information on the incident is encouraged to call Detective Michael Babycz at 734-973-4977.

I'm out that early every day about 1 mile away. I can count the number of times in the past 10 years that I have seen anyone, and on this day it sounds like there are 4. I hope the police get this solved asap.
