Convicted killer Christian Longo wants to marry former inmate
Christian Longo, the former Ypsilanti Township man convicted of killing his wife and children in Oregon in 2001, wants to get married in prison, television station KATU in Portland reports.
Longo, who moved his family from Ypsilanti Township to Oregon in 2001, was convicted of strangling his wife, MaryJane, and his 2-year-old daughter, Madison, stuffing their bodies into suitcases and throwing them into the water along the Oregon Coast. He was also convicted of drowning his 4-year-old son, Zachery, and 3-year-old daughter, Sadie Ann, by tying rock-filled pillowcases to their ankles and throwing them in the ocean.
He fled to Mexico after the murders and was caught at a beach resort where he had partied, snorkeled and had a brief affair with a German tourist, prosecutors said at his trial in 2003.
Longo attracted media attention earlier this year because of his campaign to donate his organs after his execution.

Since Christian was already married and was convicted of murdering his wife (and children) that alone should be a reason he or any other person convicted of murder should not be able to re-marry. He didn't get a divorce he chose to take a life (lives in this case).

Things that crazy people do are often newsworthy, but that does not mean they should be published. Exactly what bearing does this article have on the day-to-day life of any person in the United States?

If you are not interested in the topic, don't read the article. Can't believe the people that actually read the article and then take MORE of their precious time to complain about the topic. It's kinda like tv. If you don't like the show, turn the channel. If you don't like the topic, scroll down. Sheesh!

unlike TV which has unlimited resources, we have so very few dedicated to local news and interests ... much of the frustration of commenters towards annarbor.com is the value they place on such "news" while other, serious issues are neglected. retyping news briefs word-for-word is not real news - etc etc many of us do miss the ann abor NEWS

I find that many of the folks who comment on the articles posted here on AA.com aren't here to comment on the relevant information, rather they seem to be more interested in critiquing the editors. Maybe they are re-living failed attempts at journalism school? Either that or someone needs to find more constructive things to do with their time.

Glad you brought this 'human interest' story to our attention. Let's just forget this killer and focus on stuff that matters, huh? And it's just recycled news anyway... What happened to the 'local news' focus?

His name will create many a "click" for their numbers ... and many commenters ... local news be damned

I'm no psychiatrist, nor do I play one on the internet but it seems to me 32-year-old Keli Anne Cannon has some sort of unresolved "issues".

I just about threw up in my mouth reading what he did to his kids. If ever there needed to be proof that evil does exist in the world, read the 3rd paragraph above...
