Bullet hole found in front window of Ypsilanti home
A man reported finding a bullet hole in a window at his Ypsilanti home Monday, apparently about three weeks after the house was shot at, according to police.
Ypsilanti police responded at 2:05 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of 1st Avenue for a malicious destruction of property report. According to police, the resident reported his home had been shot at three weeks ago.
The man was not home at the time and the gunshot damaged a front window at the home. Police confirmed there was one bullet hole in the window.
It’s unknown why the man waited three weeks to report the incident. There are no suspects and police continue to investigate.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Ypsilanti police at 734-483-9510 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

Something missing in this story. If the man knew the bullet strike was 3 weeks ago why wasn't it reported then? Sounds like he was going to get the window replaced and use his insurance and found out he needed a police report to be covered. Like another poster asked incoming or outgoing bullet?

Considering he wasn't home, I'm going to speculate that it was an incoming bullet.

Yeah, that's it. The grossly understaffed police department in the violent crime ridden gangland of Ypsilanti "needed something to do."

Ypsi isn't a violent crime ridden gangland.

Was it an incoming or exit wound to the window?

When the police come visit your house for this kind of complaint, they probably needed something to do. This is a good thing.
