Bike thieves punch 15-year-old victim in face

Ypsilanti police are searching for two teenagers who stole a bicycle and watch from their teenage victim at about 2 p.m. Saturday near Prospect Park.

A 15-year-old boy told police he was walking with his bike in the park on the city's east side when the two thieves approached him, demanding that he give them the bike.

He refused, and they responded by punching him in the face. They took the bike and his wristwatch.

The suspects are both described as teens. One is heavy-set, about 5-feet, 10 inches tall, with a dark complexion and short hair.
