Basement fire displaces 2 in Superior Township
Two people were displaced from their Superior Township home following a basement fire Sunday morning.
Superior Township Fire Department Capt. Jeff French said the fire occurred at 1:30 a.m. in the 8000 block of Nottingham Drive. The cause remains under investigation.
French said the Ypsilanti Township and Ann Arbor Township fire departments provided mutual aid.
French said damage estimates were not immediately available, but the house "wasn't destroyed." The fire was put out at 1:53 a.m.
Two volunteers from the Washtenaw-Lenawee County chapter of the American Red Cross provided the two individuals with food, clothing, shoes and lodging.
