Ypsilanti Township Supervisor Brenda Stumbo, Board of Trustees incumbents hold large early lead

By Tom Perkins

With 16 of 20 precincts reporting, Ypsilanti Brenda Stumbo appears headed to a landslide win over challengers John Hoops and Brenda Meadows.

It also appeared all incumbents on the Board of Trustees will hold their seats.

Ypsilanti Township's incumbents were facing a challenge from Y-Town Future's slate of 10 candidates, which includes Hoops. The group also has three candidates running for the Ypsilanti Township Park Commission.

Clerk Karen Lovejoy-Roe is running against Ruth Ann Jamnick, and Treasurer Larry Doe is running against Larry Davis Jr.

Incumbent trustees Mike Martin, Jean Hall-Currie, Stan Eldridge and Scott Martin are holding solid leads seats against Trudy Swanson-Winston, Maria Sheler-Edwards, Carlton Fields and Sylvia Spurlock.
