Ypsilanti residents awake to sound of stray bullet breaking through their window
Ypsilanti residents who live in a house in the 700 block of Davis Street told police they awoke to the sounds of gunshots breaking glass at about 3:20 a.m. Thursday, which investigators say resulted from an altercation nearby.
The altercation, in which shots were fired, took place on nearby Maus Avenue, according to a media summary. One round entered the residence on Davis Street through a window, struck a wall and was found on the floor.
The residents were not intentional targets, according to the summary. No injuries were reported, and no other damage was done to the property.
Ypsilanti police officials were unavailable to provide additional details this morning.

I live here on the street. It was a running fire fight. They jumped the fence of the people who's house was shot. And they shot a van window out across the street from there. There are some low income apartments right behind these peoples house on Maus street. It is not uncommon for this to go on there. It happens quite frequently. And the city does nothing to the owner(s) or the tenants. It needs to be dozed over. At this point I would prefer it to be a strip mall or a vacant plot.
