Ypsilanti, Lincoln school boards to hold joint meeting to discuss consolidation of services
Ypsilanti Superintendent Dedrick Martin said he and Lincoln Consolidated Schools Superintendent Lynn Cleary have agreed to hold a joint board meeting in February.
Martin told the Ypsilanti school board Monday that he and Cleary had spoken informally about the idea of a joint meeting so the two districts could discuss sharing administrative services.

Ypsilanti Superintendent Dedrick Martin told the school board he's setting up a joint meeting with Lincoln schools.
“One thing we’ve heard loud and clear is ‘Look for opportunities to consolidate services whenever possible’ with the goal of impacting classrooms as little as possible,” Martin said.
The board agreed it was a good idea, and Martin said he would keep board members posted via his weekly updates as more details become available. He also said the meeting will be posted publicly.
“I think this has been something that has been talked about for a long time and to see it come to fruition - thank you,” Vice President Linda Horne said.
