Ypsilanti city administrators and Stewart Beal, the owner of the fire-damaged Thompson Block building have reached an agreement over the building's renovation, the Ypsilanti Citizen reports.

The agreement, which the City Council is expected to consider tonight, requires moving supporting scaffolding on River Street 19 feet closer to the building within 30 days, removing all scaffolding within 180 days and starting work on rehabilitating the structure within 120 days, the Citizen said.

Last month, the City Council voted to direct City Attorney John Barr to initiate legal action to remove the support beams propping up the Thompson Block’s façade that are in the city's right of way.

No legal action has been taken. A fire severely damaged the building in September.
