Winter storm watch: Up to 6 inches of snow predicted in Ann Arbor
This could be the real deal. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Thursday evening through Friday morning, warning that the Ann Arbor area could get 6 inches of snow or more.

After what's so-far been a mostly mild winter, this storm could bring the most significant snowfall of the season. The storm is expected to begin with a mixture of rain and snow Thursday evening before the precipitation turns to all snow.
The weather service warned motorists to expect snow-covered and slippery roads Thursday night and Friday.
The weather service now says 3 to 5 inches of snow could fall Thursday night, followed by another 1 to 2 inches on Friday. The chance of precipitation Thursday night is 100 percent, forecasters said.
An earlier forecast had predicted a slightly smaller snowfall.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulation that may affect travel.

A Winter Storm Warning has now been issued. They are saying 4-5 inches for ann arbor area (along I-94), up to 8 inches further north. Enough to be annoying, that's for sure.

Yeah, and when the snow happens, all the doubters will then be complaining about the snow on the roads and the road commission not being prepared to remove it promptly enough, right? And those that are in accidents or run late for work or are upset for their inconvenience, due to their lack of planning due to the storm will also be complaining, right? Always the complainers. ROFL.

Here's a formula I heard that seems to hold true almost every time: Take the minimum of what is predicted and cut it in half. That is how much snow will fall in Ann Arbor.

Where are you getting your weather reports from??? All current reports (9:15 pm) are stating perhaps an inch or two thursday night NORTH of Detroit (that does not include Ann Arbor) and that it will all be melted by Friday afternoon.... Why are we now sensationalizing weather on AnnArbor.com?.....

Well, there goes my list of things to do tomorrow. I really wanted to be all productive on my day off. Guess I'll just have to sit in front of the fire place with my cups of tea and watch tv. Horrible.

Got my fingers crossed, that would be sweet! If we get it, Snyder should declare a State Holiday in honor of our one day of winter.
