Winter storm warning over in Washtenaw County
The winter storm that blew through Washtenaw County today is over, leaving behind more than 9 inches of snow for road crews and residents to plow and shovel aside.
The storm warning that went into effect early this morning just expired.
"Here is what I did for an hour on my Monday off," Chris Wong wrote in an e-mail when submitting this photo on Feb. 22, 2010 for AnnArbor.com's snowman contest.

Ann Arbor's total official snowfall recorded on the University of Michigan North Campus was 9.6 inches, U-M meteorologist Dennis Kahlbaum said.
Meteorologist Mike Richter of the National Weather Service at White Lake Township said the I-94 corridor mostly saw 7.5 to 8 inches of snow.
Throughout the day, crashes have been reported on highways and secondary roads.
But by 4 p.m., the roads were looking much better, Michigan State Police Sgt. Chris Pascoe said.
"The freeways look good, but people still need to drive with caution," Pascoe said. "The salt and trucks have been doing a good job."
State police troopers handled 27 accidents today, many involving two or three cars, Pascoe said. Washtenaw County deputies took many more, although a tally wasn't available at 4 p.m.
No one was seriously injured in any of those crashes, dispatchers said.
At 4 p.m., the only crash impacting traffic was at Huron River Drive and Zeeb Road, county dispatchers said.
A Washtenaw County Road Commission official said earlier that the fleet of 46 trucks would be out all day clearing the roadways. An update wasn't available at 4 p.m. on their progress.
Several evening events have been canceled, including the Ypsilanti school board meeting.
The next chance for snow is Wednesday, when an additional 1 to 2 inches could fall, Richter said.
"It should be a lot more manageable," he said.
