Wind advisory issued for southeast Michigan

By Julie Baker

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for southeast Michigan, with sustained winds from 20 to 30 mph and a few gusts up to 45 mph this afternoon.

Wind gusts already are approaching 40 mph and should increase this afternoon, according to the Weather Service. The advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Wind gusts this strong may bring down some small limbs and may cause lawn furniture to blow around, the advisory said. Driving high provide vehicles, especially on east-west roads may be difficult.
