Weather service: Watch out for fog on morning commute

By Julie Baker

The National Weather Service is asking motorists to use caution on the morning commute Tuesday as areas of fog persist.

The weather alert says that visibilities will be reduced locally to one half a mile or less north of the M-59 corridor.

From the alert: Further south... any notable reductions in visibility will be far more patchy. Drive with care early this morning as these widely varying visibility conditions will make travel tricky at times.

The forecast for Tuesday calls for overcast skies in the morning followed by clouds and a high of 84. Winds from the WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a chance of rain after midnight. Low of 63. Winds from the NW at 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

A chance of rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for Wednesday.
