The sirens worked fine and on time in my se neighborhood. I'm tired of reading comments using every story as a way to badmouth Ann Arbor's management. This has nothing to do with the necessary job cuts to the police and fire departments.

Sadly jcj - this is the new City of Ann Arbor - not enough dispatchers, police officers, fire fighters perform the most basic jobs effectively. Let' s hope that City Hall wises up before somebody dies due to their poor decision making.

@jcj -Why did it take 20 minutes after the warning was announced for the sirens to go off in Ann Arbor? Not a good job by emergency management! Oh hey, I know - let's turn a tragic event into a political statement. It's Katrina all over again!

The first warning was for Northern Washtenaw and Southeastern Livingston Counties. The first warning for Ann Arbor came 21 minutes later. See http://kamala.cod.edu/offs/KDTX/wfus53.chunk.html
