University of Michigan welcomes back students for the 2013-14 school year
Notice anything different about Ann Arbor?
That's right, the city is more crowded because school is back in session. University of Michigan students had their first day of classes in the 2013-14 school year Tuesday, Sept. 3.
About 6,000 freshmen are enrolled at U-M this year.
Those students are the class of 2017, the school's bicentennial year and were picked from a pool of 46,700 applications, including 37,000 out-of-state applications. The freshman class has an average GPA of 3.8.
Every year U-M President Mary Sue Coleman is featured in a welcome video sent out to new and returning students.
