Graduates of the Ann Arbor school's music and musical theater programs have recently nabbed the leads of "Annie," "Bring It On" and "Newsies," and a lyricist-composer duo from the school are responsible for the new musical "A Christmas Story," in which several U-M grads are featured, according to the Journal.

"The students at Michigan are all phenomenal vocalists," Carrie Gardner, senior casting director at New York's Roundabout Theatre Company, told the Journal. "They walk out of that school ready to sing on a Broadway level, and most of them are triple threats. You just don't see very many in the other schools."
