University of Michigan fine-tunes embryonic stem cell alternatives

University of Michigan scientists have reprogrammed adult skin cells to act like embryonic stem cells, a move that will aid in future disease research, the Detroit Free Press reported today.

Scientists hope to alter the skin cells to make other cell lines, such as organ, muscle or neuron cells, the Free Press reported.
