Milan News-Leader: Treasurer makes 19-year-old grandson with no accounting experience her deputy

The newly elected treasurer in Augusta Township has appointed her 19-year-old grandson deputy treasurer, the Milan News-Leader reported. Brendan Humeniak has no experience or education in bookkeeping or finance, the newspaper reported.
In making the appointment Lynda Dew said Humeniak will do a good job and can be trusted, the newspaper reported.
At least one trustee criticized the appointment, the newspaper reported.
