Tornado watch issued for Washtenaw County
By Cindy Heflin
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for all of southeast Michigan, including Washtenaw County, until 10 tonight.
Tornadoes, hail to 2 inches in diameter, wind gusts to 70 mph and dangerous lightning are possible, the Weather Service said.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and thunderstorms.

I'm surprised the tornado sirens haven't gone off yet.

Well, they typically only go off for warnings. But last summer, they went off every time lightning was spotted in the area.

You would think that Ann Arbor Rec and Ed would cancel their outdoor activities for today.

The wind is definitely kicking out there! It's crazy. I had to tell my kids to hold onto the dog leash super-tight while walking our chihuahua. If a good gust gets caught up in her Yoda-esque ears, she'll take off like a kite.
