Temperatures in the 90s predicted for Ann Arbor Art Fair
Today’s temperature stretched into the mid-80s to beat the 83-degree forecast.
It will only get hotter—just in time for the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
Dennis Kahlbaum, a weather observer for the University of Michigan, said July 16 through the 28 typically marks the hottest time of year for our area.
The mercury should hit 86 degrees Saturday and 90 on Sunday, he said. It’s going to feel warmer than that with relatively high humidity.
The average for this time of year is 83 to 84 degrees, Kahlbaum said. It’s predicted to be hotter than that next week.
The Art Fair starts on Wednesday, with temperatures predicted to exceed 90 degrees. Thursday could get as hot as 95 degrees.
Don’t expect any rain relief from Mother Nature. Forecasters predict a 30 percent chance for thunderstorms Monday, but not a cool down.
The rains that drenched the area in May and early June have shied away, Kahlbaum said.
“June is the 8th driest on record and July is well over an inch or an inch-and-a-half below normal for the month,” he said.

Kids aren't welcome at the Art Fair? (According to the comments.) I didn't know that, I thought it was for everyone. Guess I won't go!

Please leave your old people with their sharp wind-direction thingamagigs at home. It's not safe for them in this heat. If they get too close to the heat and humidity, they might get muggy.

Can't wait to get mowed down by another double-wide stroller this year. I guess I'd better keep my dog on a short leash, though as I don't want anybody to end her.

I could have predicted the weather for Art Fair week 6 months ago: hazy, HOT, and humid, with late afternoon thunderstorms. Good Night and Good Luck

Everybody--please bring your dogs and babies. The public loves dog excrement and barking. Plus--Babies absolutely love hot, humid, sunny, crowded places, and we love being inconvienced by your strollers and uncontrolled, unsupervised, undisciplined whining kids!!

It wouldn't be the Ann Arbor Art Fair without ungodly hot temperatures with a severe storm or two thrown in for good measure.

With these temperatures, let's hope people don't bring their dogs and babies to the fair.
