Plan for State and Ellsworth roundabout the topic of public meeting in Pittsfield Township
Residents interested in the roundabout and other planned road improvements at State and Ellsworth roads are invited to a public information meeting at Pittsfield Township Hall on Feb. 29.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 6201 W. Michigan Ave. and will include Washtenaw County Road Commission officials as well as the project’s design consultant, DLZ Michigan Inc.
The discussion will include “the preliminary modern roundabout footprint,” for the upcoming State Road at Ellsworth Road intersection improvement project, according to the Road Commission.
Included in the presentation will be a discussion of the layout of the road improvement and information about “common facts and myths of modern roundabouts,” according to the meeting notice.
Details about the length of the construction project, costs, and construction impacts to adjacent and nearby properties won't be available until a follow-up meeting.
Following the presentation, residents can ask questions.
The project is scheduled for 2013. Firm plans will be addressed during another public forum once public comments are heard and design details are finalized.

Do we really need this or would it be better to make Ellsworth 5 lanes starting at Lorh all the way to Platt Rd?
