Construction of the 601 Forest housing development is moving forward, and by early next week wlll reach the stage of building a new sanitary sewer main, according to an Ann Arbor press release.

That work will require South University Avenue to be closed Monday and Tuesday.

The closure affects the road from Washtenaw to South Forest.

According to the city, both east- and west-bound traffic will be detoured through South Forest and Wasthenaw Avenue.

Pedestrian access on the south side of South University will be closed, while the north sidewalk will be open.

The 601 Forest project is a mixed-use student high rise that's expected to open by fall 2012.
