Single-vehicle crash backs up northbound US-23

A single-vehicle crash backed up traffic for miles on northbound US-23 near Ann Arbor Monday morning, according to police dispatchers.
Dispatchers said Michigan State Police troopers went to northbound US-23 at Geddes Road after a report of a crash involving one vehicle. The crash initially blocked one lane but was cleared out of that lane by 9 a.m. Monday.
Traffic was backed up past the Interstate 94 interchange as of 9:20 a.m. Monday while emergency crews worked the scene. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.

Please put the day in the headline. This Monday story was carried in the news round-up Tuesday morning. The information appeared to be useful, but, after I clicked the link, I learned it has only historic value.

did this involve the traffic circle, perchance, or was it actually on the highway?

I was there. It was on the actual highway on 23, well past the Washtenaw exit. Luckily, nobody appeared to me to be injured, damage seemed to be minimal, and traffic wasn't delayed more than 10 minutes or so.

A two-lane freeway in such a populated area is so unsafe. Until they expand Ann Arbor's freeways to three lanes, we're going to continue hearing these stories on a daily basis.
