Saline police cruiser involved in 1 of 3 crashes at US-12 and Industrial Drive

By Kyle Feldscher

One person was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after three separate traffic accidents at Industrial Drive and US-12 in Saline Tuesday afternoon.

Huron Valley Ambulance spokeswoman Joyce Williams said the person was being transported to the hospital in unstable condition. Details on the crash weren’t immediately clear as officers were still out on scene investigating at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Detective Don Lupi said a man had some sort of medical issue, causing the first crash. There were no details immediately available on the second and third crashes, other than that a police cruiser was involved in one of them and suffered extensive damage.

You didn't tell us directly, but justcurious did tell us indirectly, that US-12 and Michigan Avenue are the same road. I used the east arrow on the map provided to see more familiar areas of Michigan Avenue in order to make sure that US-12 and Michigan Avenue are the same. More often I think of M-36 being the same road as Nine Mile, M-153 and Ford Road being names of the same road.

Another accident caused by a medical condition? This is becoming fairly common according to this site's reporting of them. Makes you scared to be on the road lest someone with a "medical condition" is driving near you.

Someone with a "medical condition" driving near you may go off the road without causing any damage and die in a matter of hours. I once worked for such a person, so I remember this kind of event well.

Saw the cruiser on the tow truck drive past my office. . . the trunk was basically in the back seat. Hope everyone is all right!

I hope injures are not too serious, and the person's condition improves.
