The Saline native and son of Ann Arbor-area Realtor Missy Caulk was critically injured in the wreck, but his friends and family spent recent days praying for a sign that he would survive.

Thursday night, a wave of prayers and well-wishes on Facebook turned to grief as word of Caulk's death spread.

According to a post by Nathan Shimodoi on a Facebook page dedicate to Caulk: "Jamie went on to be with the Lord today at around 6:00 pm. His brain was no longer sending messages to his body to control involuntary actions such as breathing, blinking etc. so the family decided to take him off life support."

Funeral details are pending.
