When Idzikowski was hired in June, Saline Main Street said she would be responsible for coordinating downtown revitalization activities, promoting public awareness of the organization and acting as a liaison to other government and community organizations.
Saline was chosen earlier this year as the 17th Michigan Main Street Community, which is meant to create opportunities for redevelopment, placemaking and economic growth. The nonprofit Saline Main Street was created in response to that.
Idzikowski was chosen from a pool of 30 applicants who applied for the opening.
“Kelly just realized that this really wasn't a good fit for her,” Chairwoman Cindy Czbuko told the Saline Reporter in an email.
