GPS and cellphone stolen from vehicle outside Saline grocery store
A Garmin GPS, cellphone and CDs were reported stolen from a man’s vehicle after it was broken into while he was at work in Saline Saturday.
According to a Saline police report, the 29-year-old Wayne man went to work at 3 p.m. Saturday at Busch’s, 565 E. Michigan Ave. The man told police he left his car unlocked and returned about 5:45 p.m., when he was on break.
The man told police his Garmin GPS, cellphone and a case containing CDs were all stolen from the vehicle. The cellphone charger and GPS charger cords were both stolen as well.
There was no suspect description available in the report. Police continue to investigate.

It is so easy to lock your car each time you exit it. Never leave anything valuable in sight of anyone passing by your vehicle. Simple.

If the door was unlocked, I fail to see how the car was "broken into".

I'm not a legal expert but I think the house or car doesn't have to be locked for it to be considered breaking and entering.

Easy to track most smartphones these days with phone tracking apps. Some even have neat features where you could capture pictures of the person trying to unlock the phone, remotely sound an alarm on the phone, etc.

Used to be a very safe place, but, it's been a long time since it was safe to leave your car or home unlocked in Saline. You would think that someone from Wayne would know better.

Unlocked? Not that I'd want to blame the victim or anything. But yes, Saline does have a drug problem...these items were no doubt sold on craigslist instantly and $$ used for pills or heroin
