There could be delays on US-23 in the area near Willow and Stony Creek roads for culvert cleaning in York Township for the next five days.

The work on the Sugar Creek extension drain was scheduled to begin Thursday on the southbound side of the highway.

The Washtenaw County Water Resources Commission and Mead Brothers Excavating are performing the work, according to a media release from the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

The work will occur on the west or southbound side of the highway at the culvert crossing approximately 4,300 feet south of Stony Creek Road.

Traffic will be maintained on US-23, but the shoulder will be closed in the area of the culvert crossing, and traffic delays are possible.

All dates are tentative, and these cleaning operations are weather dependent.
