Pretrial conference set for one suspect in fire at old Pinball Pete's

Two suspects charged with setting fire to the old Pinball Pete's building near the University of Michigan campus in October appeared in court Wednesday, and a pretrial conference was set for one of them, The Michigan Daily reported.

Justin Arens, 21, and Ian MacKenzie, 18, were charged with arson of personal property, preparation to burn and arson of real property,

At the hearing Wednesday, Judge Charles Pope dismissed the charge of arson of personal property against MacKenzie and set a pretrial conference for Jan. 4 at 1:30 before Judge Melinda Morris, The Daily said.

The judge also agreed to postpone a pretrial hearing for Arens until Dec. 30, The Daily reported.
