Power out for more than 2,600 DTE Energy customers west of Ann Arbor
11 a.m. update: Power has been restored to most of the area.
A power outage was affecting more than 2,600 DTE Energy customers west of Ann Arbor Friday morning.
DTE spokesman Alejandro Bodipa-Memba said power should be restored by about 10 a.m. A problem at a substation caused the outage, he said.
The outage area stretches roughly from Interstate 94 almost to Staebler Road.
You can check the DTE outage map for updates. Further information was not immediately available.

When the snitch meters stop broadcasting, DTE knows that your power is off. If nothing else, someone will stop by to see why you are messing with their meter.
