The initial autopsy done on the body of the 18-year-old man found dead in Ann Arbor last week showed no initial indication of foul play, according to police.

Police continue to investigate the discovery of a man's body found near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Eisenhower Place last week.

Detective Lt. Robert Pfannes wrote in an email Monday police are waiting for the results of a toxicology report. An autopsy was scheduled for June 4 and the initial results haven’t given police too many new clues.

“There is no initial indication of foul play,” Pfannes stated.

The man was discovered dead in a wooded area near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Eisenhower Place on June 2. Police have notified the man’s family of his death but have not released his name to the public.

Police initially ruled the man’s death suspicious. Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the man’s death was ruled suspicious because of his age and the fact that he was found without identification in the woods.

It’s believed the man’s body was in the woods for only a day or two.

Anyone with information on the man’s death is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

My condolences to his family and friends. Kyle, do you know if his name will be released to the public at some point? Do you know why it has not been released yet?

DBH - My belief is that, yes, his name will be released at some point. When that point is, I don't know yet. I'm still not sure why police have not released the man's name. Usually, after family is notified the name can be released. It might be the strange nature of the case, or the amount of unanswered questions that investigators still have, but I have not got a clear answer yet.

Why is it important for you to know? If you were friends with him or the family you would already have that information.

As a rule, 18 year old's don't just drop dead. I suppose he could have had a congenial defect he didn't know about, but how convenient he just happened to die in the woods. The results of the toxicology report should shed more light on the matter.
