Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor is now open
Plymouth Road in northeast Ann Arbor reopened this afternoon for the first time since debris from a storm late Wednesday forced the road closure.
"City of Ann Arbor crews have cleared the debris that closed Plymouth Road between Barton Drive and Broadway Road and have reopened all travel lanes," according to an email from the city.
The storm caused an embankment failure that sent about 2,000 cubic yards of mud and debris across the road.
A 45-foot-long section of the foundation of the railroad tracks east of the intersection of Traver Road and Bowen Street was swept away. Ann Arbor Railroad officials told police Wednesday night that it would take two to three weeks to repair the tracks.

Yes, they are. They use our other railroad track, which runs along the Huron River, to go east and west, whether they're freight or passenger trains. The track under repair runs north and south.
