Road work beginning Monday in Manchester, Sharon and Webster townships will cause delays

Motorists traveling on about 12 miles of roads in Manchester, Sharon and Webster townships will see lane closures beginning Monday for chip sealing road work.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission will work on 12.2 miles of roads is expected to take five days. In all areas, traffic delays are likely and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

In Manchester Township:

  • Sharon Hollow Road from Austin to Herman
  • Herman Road from Sharon Hollow to Watkins
  • Watkins Road from Herman to the Jackson County line
  • Sharon Hollow from Austin to the Sharon Township line

In Sharon Township:

  • Sharon Hollow from Sharon Township line to Sharon Valley Road
  • Sharon Valley from Sharon Hollow to the Jackson County line

In Webster Township:

  • Webster Church Road from North Territorial to Joy
  • Joy Road from Webster Church to Zeeb

During the asphalt work, the Road Commission recommends that pedestrians and bicyclists stay away from the area as burns are possible from contact with hot asphalt.
