Pittsfield Township police say two men set off pop bottle bomb at gas station, injuring clerk
A gas station clerk was injured this evening when a pop bottle bomb left behind by two men exploded near the counter, Pittsfield Township police said.
Officers are now searching for the two men responsible for placing the explosive device at the Sunoco in the 4000 block of Washtenaw Avenue just after 7 p.m.
Township police said the clerk was working alone when the men entered and placed a pop bottle containing "reactionary contents" near the counter.
After the men exited, the device exploded, causing the clerk to suffer minor eye and throat irritation from the fumes, police said. The clerk went to an area hospital to be evaluated.
The first man was described as black, 18-20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build and had dreadlocks. He was wearing a black sweat jacket, red shirt and dark pants.
The second man was described as black, 18-20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build with short hair. He was wearing a blue hoodie, dark pants and blue baseball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pittsfield Township police at 734-944-4911.

I was wondering what was going on last night when I drove by too. There were two police cars and two fire trucks blocking off both driveways. hope the clerk has a speedy recovery.

I bet they thought that once the bomb went off, they'd be able to sneak back in once the cleark wasn't around and rob the place...oh wait... cops all over the place...hmmm...not such a good idea...or were the actors mad because the Twinkies are so expensive there?
