The crash was 1/4 mile east of the intersection and was head-on, so I think that the intersection had nothing to do with it.

You are thinking of E. Textile that crosses Platt and intersects with Michigan. However, Textile then continues on east going briefly south from Michigan Ave. It is this intersection that the crash appears to have been close to.

I don't get the impression this was at the official 'intersection' at Platt and Michigan, but rather at the convenient avoid-the-light intersection of Textile and Michigan Ave. That being said they DO need to do something with this area of Platt-US12-Textile. There are too many accidents, a lot of close calls and it is no longer designed to safely accommodate the traffic that it handles. Prayers and thoughts to those involved in this incident.

Use the map zoom function or use the road, either way East (if you need me to be specific) Textile does indeed intersect with Michigan Ave.

There is no intersection of Textile and Michigan Ave

is there any question this is the most dangerous road in the county? why are we widening a road that sees less than 20 minor accidents per year and ignoring this one?

That is a very dangerous intersection. Next round-a-bout?

I drove past the accident this morning, it wasn't near any major intersection (I think there are some neighborhoods nearby). Seeing accidents always reminds me that it could be me. I couldn't figure out how this one happened, as traffic is usually stop-and-go through this area this time of day.

Man, I can only hope. People complain about them but you'll never see an accident like this at a round-a-bout.
