Pittsfield police dispatch reports phone problems

Update: The phone lines were back in operation by 6 p.m.

The Pittsfield Department of Public Safety is having problems with its phones, and its seven-digit numbers are non-operational as of 4:10 p.m. Monday, according to a release from the department.

The department's main number, (734) 822-4911, as well as all the rest of its phone system was not working. The problem was being worked on, according to the release.

The department urges the public to call 911 in the event of an emergency. Otherwise, for non-emergency matters, police suggest residents come into the station located at 6227 W. Michigan Ave., Pittsfield Township.
