Person found dead in wooded area off Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor police are investigating the discovery of a body found in a vehicle in a heavily wooded area near the Penske Truck Rental on Plymouth Road.
Shortly before noon Thursday, Sgt. Matt Lige said the investigation had just begun and there were no details on the incident at this point. He said police had been notified of a vehicle that ran off the road and it was discovered in a heavily wooded area Thursday morning with the deceased person inside. He said the car had been there for “a period of time” but he couldn’t speculate whether the incident was an accident or something else.
“We’re still piecing it together,” he said.
The scene was taped off and officers were actively investigating as of noon Thursday.

There appeared to be a City of Ann Arbor crew operating a sucking instrument from a large hole in the ground. It looked like a large water pipe adjacent to the scene strangely right before this discovery occurred. When Ingrid and I drove by later we saw 3 police cars w/ yellow tape stretched out around the apartment complex exit. I knew that this was not a good sign.

My condolences to the deceased and his/her family and friends. AA.com, the article reports that "police had been notified of a vehicle that ran off the road," do you know if that happened today, or at an earlier date?

Anna- When I talked to police on scene, they only said the vehicle had been found this morning. It's unknown at this point how long it had been there but police told me the body is in such shape it leads them to believe it had been there for a while.

Hi Anna- Kyle will be publishing an update shortly, but police were notified today by city employees who were working in the area and discovered the vehicle.
