Placement of crosswalk is concerning to Ann Arbor parent

By Guest Column

Considering that bridges tend to ice over, placing the crosswalk at the bottom of the East Stadium bridges does not seem to be a good idea. When someone going downhill has to stop suddenly for a pedestrian, and all the cars behind have to do the same — on ice, the safety of everyone is compromised.

It would have been a better idea to move that crosswalk farther from end the slope. Think of all the students driving to Pioneer in the morning... I hope there are no regrets.

Hey, it's Ann Arbor! The ice will have to adjust.

I thought it was a lame place to put a crosswalk. Who crosses the street there? No shoppers, no students. I guess just golfers chasing their errant shots.

so right. you are. city planning some time does it without thinking of everything. some one should have thought of that prior.

Very good point! But the wise old owls in the city will just put a traffic light there rather than admit they had their heads in the sand when this was decided!

You're so Right! I'll bet a lot of people never even thought of that.
