opinion: Money spent on new Wagner Road fence could have been better spent

I'd like to say that MDOT did overkill on the fencing they just put up on Wagner Road to close down Camp Take Notice, Crews were working for days, high chain link fencing installed and no trespassing signs.
It is a total eyesore. The bigger question is what did this project cost in materials and labor? I thought this state had economic problems.
I wonder whatever use all of that money could have been spent in other places. Sandy Eiler
