LaBarre up for challenges Board of Commissioners will face in the future

It is with great pleasure that I note that Andy LaBarre is running for County Commissioner in District Seven.
Andy was serving on John Dingell's staff when I first met him, and I was impressed by his knowledge of the needs of that position and the nearly instant follow up that he provided when asked.
As a member of the Ypsilanti-Ann Arbor Chamber, I have been further pleased by his performance for that organization. He is clearly up for the immense challenges that lie before us, and specifically the County Board of Commissioners.

Andy La Barre also has my support in his bid for Washtenaw's District 7 County Commissioner. Andy brings a rare blend of interests and experience to this position: while he works for the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Regional Chamber of Commerce, he is also an Ann Arbor Housing Commission Director and serves on the Board of SOS Community Services. He knows how to work in the world of business, yet he displays real dedication, insight and compassion for individuals and families with limited incomes. As a staffer for Congressman Dingell, Andy learned from one of Michigan's longest serving, most respected leaders. Andy learned his way around and made connections at the federal government during this time, experience that will surely benefit our county when Andy is elected. In addition to these qualifications, Andy's character is also impeccable. I have known Andy for four years – and he is intelligent and insightful, honest and hard working. He is an excellent listener, and he does not make empty promises. With Andy on the Board of Commissioners, there will be no back room deals, and our tax dollars will always be spent wisely. I wonder if he learned from Rep. Dingell not to listen to the voice of his voters and get the shaft from the Democrat "Big Wigs"?
