Good Samaritan at Starbucks made her day

By Letters to the Editor

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, I traveled to the drive-thru Starbucks on Washtenaw Avenue in Ypsilanti for a desperate cup of coffee. After ordering my cup of coffee and unaware that I had forgotten my money, I found myself searching about my car for quarters and pennies.

As luck would have it, I was able to scrounge up the 2 dollars. I proceeded to the next window to find much more than I had anticipated. Coupled with my great cup of coffee was an unexpected kindness. The lady patron just ahead of me not only paid for my cup of coffee, but asked the Starbucks employee to wish me a "happy day." The remainder of my day was filled with smiles, warmth, and the desire to pass the kindness.

To the lady who visited Starbucks just ahead of me, thank you for your kindness, it will not be soon forgotten!
