Deb Mexicotte has proved she would be positive step for Ann Arbor School Board
I strongly endorse Deb Mexicotte for the Ann Arbor School Board, and urge you to do the same.
Deb has served tirelessly on the Board of Education since 2003 and has been a strong advocate for the children of our district. She supports high achievement for all students, a rich arts and music curriculum, and opportunities for students with special needs.
Deb is a visionary leader with a demonstrated ability to work through the issues effectively and move the Board of Education and the District forward in keeping with the Strategic Plan and in partnership with the Community.
In the face of continued financial turmoil in public education, we need he continued leadership on the Board more than ever. Remember to vote for Deb Mexicotte on Tuesday, Nov.6.

A debit, deb for short, is an item of debt. Debs are always on the left. If it is not right it is not a credit. AAPS needs to be accountable. Dick Leslie's kid learned accounting at an early age. Mexicotte has never learned to be accountable.

Her lack of major issues discussed in the past few years and allowing the administration to do too many things without answering to the board make her unqualified to be president.

All "Deb" has done is ask property owners for more money.

If you're happy with the way things have gone the past 10 years in the AAPS, vote for Mexicotte. If you've had enough of the AAPS spending on administration, and cutting teachers, DO NOT VOTE for Mexicotte. It will just be more of the same. Raises for admin, less teachers, and a lot of talk about keeping the cuts away from the classroom.

Deb is a good at being board president. And she's really good at breaking things down, and putting them back together in comprehensible pieces for the other members to understand. She has a grip on the big problems in the district and is taking the long view to fix them. xmo better talk to Snyder is he wants to correct the dollar shortage, AAPS is still in the green and kids are still getting a good education. It a hard district to oversee, for so many reasons, and Deb is moving things in the right direction. Deb should stay.

Last night? The AAPS board has been silent on the sports focus of the schools in Ann Arbor. They keep feeding the more then $3 million a year in operating funds into the win at all costs machine. Is last night something we want more of?

Great, more of the same. When Mr. Panitch ran for a seat on the board, his 3 priorities were "the achievement gap among AAPS students; what he called the 'global achievement gap'; and the current attempts to link student achievement to teacher evaluation." That's right--BOTH of his top 2 issues were the achievement gap, and the 3rd was keeping teachers unaccountable. Funny enough, Mexicotte voted against him.

"Hope and Change" is not really what you'll get from the opposing candidate. Well, it will probably just be change, and not for the better. Please dig a little deeper and get to know what he really stands for. Deb actually knows what the job entails and has quiet (and not so quiet) determination to keep things moving.

I prefer Hope and Change to Mexicotte. It worked in 2008 it can work now. The Ann Arbor Schools need a new leader and new ideas. The district is run by a bunch of narrow minded individuals who are a day late and a couple of Million Dollars short!
