Current bills are giveaways to insurance companies

By Letters to the Editor

The House version of "healthcare reform" is a fraud. The Senate version is even worse. Now because of the Stupak amendment, the Dems are spinning the abortion issue as the problem. Stupak's amendment is not the problem, the bills themselves are. They are giveaways to the insurance industry.

Shame on Dingel, shame on Levin and Stabenow if they vote in favor of this very harmful legislation.

Americans need affordable healthcare. The issue is not about insurance, but access to affordable healthcare -- once again the framing of this as access to insurance is a filthy attempt to annihilate real reform. This is cowardly and evidence that you're operating under a corrupted version of democracy. Do not vote for the present bill!!!

Yes, I agree this so called health care reform bill should be defeated. It does not reduce the cost of health care. It cuts Medicare funding which will hurt seniors. It increases the cost of Medicaid to the states.AARP supports the bill because they feel AARP will get more revenue from its contract with United Healthcare by providing insurance to seniors, to cover the medicare cuts. Congress needs to kill this bill and start over.
